US Open 9-Ball Tournaments in April

Virtual Pool 4 US Open 9-Ball championships start on April 16th. There are 2 divisions, Open and Handicapped. The Open division is open to all players and there are no handicaps given. The Handicapped division is for players from Rookie to A Player skill levels and the handicaps are given as multiple money balls.

We are raffling off a Tiger TC-2 playing cue, a real one, to all players entered in either US Open tournament division.  This is a $549 cue which plays great and comes with an Ultra X shaft. See more about the cue at the Tiger Product site.

There are also other goodies besides the cue you can win like t-shirts and virtual cues. Raffle tickets are offered for sale for non-participants in the store. The drawing will be done after the tournament finals are played.

The tournaments are being played Not Real Time (NRT) because of the large fields. NRT tournaments have a few days to play each round. Matches are scheduled using the NRT Match Scheduler to negotiate the play time with your opponent. This is easy to do, click to see a short video tutorial. You can also get help from and TD (red in lobby, click on the name in the Player List and it shows Tournament Director on the popup).

The tournaments are paying out significant money and the Open division has a large ranking point bonus and rating bump.

Celeris will ship real items won to you worldwide. Winner is responsible for any VAT, customs, or duties.

We should set up a Pro Tour costing $1000 VP4$ to enter with 6 big events throughout each season and a World Championships at the end of the year. Non-handicapped and longish races (Race to 11 up to quarters, race to 15 quarters, race to 17 semis and the final Race to 18) I'd be happy to help with ranking points etc.

That would be great. I'm hoping for this to happen (especially for snooker) since i started playing VP3! For the beginning bringing back the World Championships would be a great start. At least in 9-ball and Snooker they should be there. And a tour with some bigger events over the year should be the long time goal!

The real US open is a race to 11; as are a lot of pro 9 ball events. A race to 21 in Vp4 is way too long (especially with double elimination). Potentially 41 racks could be played in a single match. I don't have 3-4 hour blocks of time to set aside per match. Also, tight pockets should be employed in a high level championship event such as this. Thanks, and good luck to all who play it.

Looking also forward to Snooker Pro Tour or atleast some NRT bestof7 tournaments. Hopefully some snooker tourneys will be even best of 11 semis/finals and could be split into 2 sessions. Two decent players can complete a bo7 in 2hours or 3hours max.
