Welcome to the Virtual Pool Online Blog

This blog is for sharing knowledge about Virtual Pool and real life pool. There will be some other subjects but this is primarily a pool blog, and by pool that includes snooker, billiards, and pub pool too. I, Steve Chaplin, am the administrator of this blog and the primary blogger. There will be guest bloggers and we have some nice ones lined up, including some pro players and others very knowledgeable about VP and real pool.

I'm hoping to share about VP and RL (real life) pool and I hope that information can improve your game, and/or provide some reading enjoyment. I'm also hoping to learn from you in the community. I have been impressed with the community feedback on VP and RL pool. So let's have some fun and share our pool knowledge.

I appreciate and encourage your participation in discussing posted blogs. Dissenting opinions are welcome but please be courteous to bloggers and others making comments.

I will also post about computer programming or other topics not pool related, but that is more of a sideline. Blogs posts are in selectable categories, so you can filter the chaff that does not interest you.

I absolutely love UK Pub on World Rules & can't wait to play online with other human's as I feel their tactics will make for a much better game. VP4 is so much more like real life in Pub, I've taken to it like a duck to water, where as in VP3 I felt I had to get used the angles & general physics of the game. Anyone too tight to treat themselves is missing out, Come on all !

Some of you have had same game for 10 years lol.

    Get up to date.

Thanks for all the replies to the intro. We are still sorting out a few issues on the blog. Right now Replay to a comment is broken. We are also going to allow setting of player names and will use those to identify you.

Super Admin January 29, 2013 at 02:34 pm

Fern, we are only doing digital distribution at this time, so you have to buy online and download.

    RTC-UK January 30, 2013 at 04:25 pm

Try buying with a PrePaid Visa card, you only need put credit on it the once & discard it after ya paid online for the game.

can u use the clubhouse cue for jump shots

Super Admin February 14, 2013 at 10:20 pm

Yes, you can use the house cue, but it does not jump very well. You really need a jump cue to jump effectively

    Nipperdog February 25, 2013 at 05:36 am

    Hi

do i have to purchase the full V pool 4 Game to be able to play online ?

    Regards

    RTC-UK February 25, 2013 at 01:06 pm

Nipperdog Fairly sure ya don't need to pay for the Offline VP4 ($29.99) to play online, yet if ya do buy it, you'll get $V100 to use to play in online competitions, & maybe the annual subscription can be paid with Vdollars.
My opinion is ya buy it & get practising as it may be a few months before game is released online.

Super Admin February 25, 2013 at 01:59 pm

Yes, there will be an email notification when online is ready.

    R3dn3cK February 27, 2013 at 03:51 am

    VP4-online.... where are you ?

Will it be out before Iphone 6, I wonder about the odds j/k

    PearlJamR August 2, 2013 at 10:22 pm

Voted on Steam for VP4. hope it actually gets on there ;)

    anonymous October 7, 2013 at 05:15 am

Great game, getting a bit sick of playing the computer now. Either ridiculously good or horrible..same sort of player performance anomalies as VP3 unfortunately. 8000+ frames later I suppose makes it easier to spot..

Bring on VP4 Online! We'd all like a status update please.

P.S. Might a good idea to put the most recent comments up top for these as the list is getting pretty long now!

    Cheers

Does everybody only use Facebook? Got $V 1000 now, as per the new entry on INFO. How much is a cue?

    RTC-UK January 30, 2014 at 08:04 am

I think most are using FB to get info PJ,

Here's a cost of some cues & shafts from testing.

    RTC-UK February 5, 2014 at 10:01 pm

I just bought The Flyswatter cue !

    Spend V$'s wisely !
It was a quick easy purchase (on iPhone) & not sure how I'd return it for a refund if it was Pub Hoops I'd meant to buy.

    PearlJamR February 5, 2014 at 10:17 pm

:) Ha! I got a Carmeli Classic but not sure if i wanna break with it so i got a break cue as well. Then i thought why not get a nice shaft and use the 13 mm that comes with the Carmeli to break with. What ya'll think?

    RTC-UK February 6, 2014 at 10:18 pm

Won't the shaft have it's own tip ?

    PearlJamR February 6, 2014 at 11:10 pm

Yes. I am not wanting to break with it, but was wondering if breaking with the 13mm tip that comes with the cueshaft...you mucking around, aren't you.

    TheReidman March 21, 2014 at 09:47 pm

Is there any way to get V$ without purchasing any? Bought  a couple sticks and didn't realize I needed the money to enter tourneys. can sell a cue maybe?

Super Admin March 22, 2014 at 05:13 pm

Cues can't be sold. You will want those anyways, they are better than the house cues.

    NastyNick January 28, 2015 at 01:08 pm

    Hi,

Just joined, haven't got a game yet but I joined VP4 online to play snooker. Only four snooker events for the whole week?

Sadly not much snooker interest then or is it just a quiet week?

Super Admin October 24, 2020 at 09:08 am

There are a fair number who will play snooker but the snooker tournament are not that popular cause they take a long time.

    loafer October 24, 2020 at 11:55 pm

    OK, thanks.
