Killer Pool

Killer is a multiplayer elimination game for 3 or more players of any skill level. Each player starts with a set number of lives (X). You lose one life for every missed shot or foul. When you lose all your lives, you are eliminated. The last player remaining wins (unless Reset rules apply - see below).

Rack

Fifteen balls are racked in a triangle with the 8-ball in the center.

Break

An open break is required (at least 4 balls must contact a rail). Failure to achieve an open break results in loss of one life.

If the break is open but no ball is pocketed, the breaker continues shooting and must pocket a ball on that turn or lose one life.

Valid Shot

Pocket any ball in any pocket. Failure to pocket a ball results in loss of one life.

Scoring & Lives

Each player starts with X lives (see Advanced Settings). Players remain in the game until all lives are lost.

Spotting Balls

Balls are never spotted.

Fouls

All fouls result in loss of one life. Fouls include:

• Missing (failing to pocket a ball)
• Scratch (cue ball pocketed)
• Cue ball off the table
• Object ball off the table
• Shot clock violation

After a scratch or cue ball off the table, the incoming player has Ball in Hand (BIH) in the kitchen.

Three-Foul Rule

No three-foul rule.

Jump Cues

No jump cues allowed.

Strategy

Try to pocket a ball while leaving the next player in a difficult position. If you have enough lives to burn, you may deliberately foul to leave a tougher layout for the next player.

Other Rules, Advanced Settings

These rules are always in effect in some form. The Advanced Rules page allows changing the options below.

Lives

Default is 3, adjustable between 2 and 6.

Potting the 8-Ball

Default: potting the 8-ball awards one new life. Other options: Off (no new life), or New Life if Below Starting Lives (awards a life only if the player is below their starting lives).

Reset

Default is On: if only one player remains, they must make a legal pot to win. If they fail, the game resets and restarts with no winner.

If Off, no reset occurs and the last remaining player wins.
